Assistant Engineer, Hunterdon County Department of Public Works

You will perform field and office engineering work involved in the design, maintenance and construction of roads, bridges, culverts, storm drainage systems, public grounds as well as traffic control systems.
Environmental remediation projects may also be included in the work assignments.

Education Requirement:
This position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Possession of a Professionals Engineers (PE) License or an Engineer-in-Training Certification issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors may be substituted for a college degree.
Examples of work:
Employee will assist in the design/preparation and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Employee may be asked to assist in the preparation of NJDEP permits.
Employee will assist in the construction management of the County's many different types of Capital projects.
Employee will provide technical support to the Hunterdon County Development Review Committee.
Employee will be required to learn and utilize various types of computer information systems that are used by the County.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office, HEC-RAS, and AutoCAD-Civil3D will be viewed favorably.
