Essential Job Functions:
The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
-Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language -Ability to perform and understand business math -Ability to read and understand store P & L -Ability to build strong relationships with store and department teams -Ability to communicate as a leader -Ability to teach, train and coach individuals -Ability to troubleshoot problems and offer solutions -Knowledge of equipment as required by department -Knowledge, application and impact of company inventory systems -Follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, and price marking, scaling, and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy and product rotation and protection.
-Keep display cases and other merchandising areas stocked and signed; display merchandise in an attractive, appealing, neat and colorful manner.
-Be knowledgeable in and able to differentiate between various types of fish and related merchandise including taste, preparation method or use, and price differences between varieties of similar classes of products.
-Control freshness, quality and temperature of product by following safe food handling procedures.
-Handle damaged and expired products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
-Be knowledgeable in the company's HAZCOM program and adhere to manufacturer's label instructions for the safe and proper use of all chemical products.
-Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance regularly; report any failure immediately.
-Ability to read and interpret data and offer explanation and implement solutions -Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment -Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code policies -Comply with ShopRite Purpose, Vision, Mission, Values and Service Priorities -Provide excellent customer service, ability to uphold all company standards, and provide job aids -Achieve gross profit, shrink, supply, labor and sales goals -Work as an excellent team member and work together to obtain a high level of company standards and ethics -Communicate regularly with your Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager on the day to day operations -Review departmental sanitation and QA standards daily -Review monthly self-inspections and quarterly QA inspections and develop plans if needed -Provide timely response to associate and customer accidents -Provide timely response to customer and associate feedback -Ensure follow through for merchandising direction, plan and go to market strategies -Ensure proper pricing for interim priced items -Ensure all items are properly marked and signed, following Wakefern and company pricing policies -Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering materials and supplies in order to meet customer requirements and maximize profits -Review associate Time and Attendance book -Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
-Follow through on commitment and merchandising dates -Perform quarterly and annual associate performance reviews -Ensure schedules are written within budget with appropriate labor allocation to meet customer and business needs -Recognize and manage inappropriate associate behavior using progressive discipline procedures -Review all associate evaluations to ensure objective feedback and consistency -Ensure quality of training for department associates -Participate in succession planning discussions with store team for associate development -Meet all work schedules and comply with all time and labor laws -Adhere to all local, county, state and federal liquor laws -Maintain a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA requirements -Perform any other duties as assigned Job Type:
