$35,568 - $45,000 Aquatics Specialist Hours:
40/week Aquatics Specialist
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the private swim lesson program.
Serves as the connection point between youth swim lessons and the competitive swim team.
Lead and instruct swim lessons, and through these efforts, prepare and transition qualified swimmers to the swim team.
Coach a designated swim team group.
Serve on the summer camp leadership team, preparing swim instructors, lifeguards and day camp staff for serving our day camp youth.
Under the direction of the director and associate director of aquatics, assist in all aspects of day-to-day operations of the aquatics department.
This includes lifeguarding, hiring, training, and supervision of the lifeguard and swim instruction team.
Aquatics Specialist
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Preferred majors:
Youth Development, Teaching, Psychology, Sports Management, Physical Education or a related field.
1-3 years of competitive swimming coach experience preferred.
1-3 years of swim lesson experience preferred.
1-3 years of experience in staff supervision.
Knowledge of current YMCA or Red Cross preschool, youth and adult curriculum, trends and teaching design preferred.
Certification in CPR/AED for Adults, Children and Infants and First Aid.
(Posses or obtains in 1 month) Lifeguard certification (Posses or obtains in 1 month) Obtains YMCA/ USA coaching certification within 3 months Aquatics Specialist
