Position Summary
Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance.

Maintain Professional Development
Education of patient and family
Patient Advocate
Maintain Patient Safety
Work Contact Group (Internal/External)
HMC employees, Providers, Patients and Family, Visitors & Vendors
Reporting Relationships
Reports to (position):
Nurse Director
Supervises (position(s):
Indirect supervision of Patient Care Assistant, Mental Health Associate, Patient Care Tech, PSA and Unit Coordinator
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire and complete program by December 2020.
Preferred:
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
At least one year of acute care RN experience
Preferred:
At least one year of acute care Psychiatric experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Current NJ RN licensure and American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
Preferred:
Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse certification or other specialty certification.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Crisis Prevention (CPI) training required within 6 months of hire and maintained annually. HMC will provide the CPI course.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
