JOB SUMMARY
Assumes responsibility for providing patient care in accordance with established standards of professional nursing care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses surgical skills as a first line direct patient care treatment team. Assumes the surgical treatment team leader when assignment ensures compliance with all HMC policies and procedures. Uses an understanding of principles of growth and development to assess each surgical patient's age-specific treatment and care
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. If associates degree or diploma in Nursing is held, must be enrolled in BSN program and completed by December 2020.
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required. Previous OR experience preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Current New Jersey RN License and American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers required upon hire. ACLS certification required upon hire. They must also complete Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation training within 6 months of hire.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Leadership, strong surgical skills and high motivation. Good communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Shows initiative and possesses good problem solving skills. Ability to use special surgical equipment.
