JOB SUMMARY
The RN of the Maternity Unit will assume responsibility for the childbearing family in the antepartum, through labor, delivery, and postpartum period.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
These duties will be performed in accordance with established AWHONN and JCAHO standards. The professional nurse on Maternity will have expertise in all primary areas: Labor & Delivery, Special Care Nursery, Mother Babay, OR/PACU. The professional nurse will practice collaboratively with peers, physicians, ancillary staff and patient/family to meet the needs of the childbearing family in a family centered manner.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. If associates degree or diploma in Nursing is held, must be enrolled in BSN program and completed within four (4) years of hire.
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 1 year medical/surgical OB experience required. Minimum of 1 year Labor and Delivery experience required.
REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Current New Jersey RN license require. CPR certification is required. NRP within 1 year.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must participate in yearly competency based program and mandated inservice education. AWHONN PACU course within 2 years for L/D, OR/PACU, basic EFM course within 1 year, AWHONN EFM course within 2 years.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITY
AWHONN certification, IBCLC certification.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
